The beautiful change between winter to summer is one that can be exciting. People anticipate the warm weather, the flowers budding, and the crack of the bat in the baseball diamond. It prompts us to begin the dreaded annual spring cleaning. There is something to be said about the feeling of a fresh start after detailing your cluttered car. Here are some tips to help you better clean your vehicle this spring.

  1. Brush before vacuuming

When you brush your car’s surface gently with a fine bristled brush it is easier to get the dirt and dust off of your surface. Try to use this brush on areas such as buttons, crevices, and ventilation areas. This will help get all the nooks and crannies that are easy to miss. Be sure to 1st remove all of the trash and other obstacles that may be in your vehicle. Be sure to finish this stage of deep cleaning with an air freshener to make your vehicle smell brand new.

  1. Use a stiff brush on carpet and mats

Through the winter your car can build up some nasty winter grime on your carpet and mats. They will need a deep clean and the best way to do so is to start with a stiff brush to loosen any of the dirt that may have found its home on the surface of your vehicle. Using a stiff brush allows you to remove any debris or trapped remnants in the fibers of your carpet. Next, vacuum the carpet to remove any remaining dirt.

  1. Don’t forget to wash your tires

Use non acid products when you are washing your tires to give it a clean look without damaging the material on your tires with chemicals. This is another situation where using a stiff brush is needed to get off any grime on your tires. Another tool could be a toothbrush to reach these smaller nooks and crannies of your tire.

  1. Wash the exterior of your car by hand

Dedicate a day to wash your vehicle by hand to create a smooth exterior. This is the best option because it provides more detailed cleaning. When you use a car wash cleaning solution rather than opting for a household soap it will give your car a clean look while also preserving the finish. Once you have rinsed your car, attempt to use a rubber squeegee tool to get rid of any water that may remain.
